How We Rank and Verify Shark Tank Products
Here's exactly how our rankings, statuses and stats work, so you can judge them for yourself.
The success score
Every product gets a score that combines:
- Deal outcome: did a Shark invest on air?
- Business status: is the company still operating, acquired or closed?
- Notable outcomes: acquisitions, major retail distribution and other verified milestones.
- Reader signals: star ratings, reviews and how often readers view and save the product.
- Recency: a small boost for newer seasons, so lists don't only show 2012-era products.
"Still in business" checks
We automatically visit every company's official website and record whether it responds with a real, working site. Parked domains, expired domains and sites taken over by unrelated content (such as gambling spam) are flagged and unlinked. This is a signal, not proof, so each product page shows the date of the last check.
Where the data comes from
Pitch and deal data come from public episode records, episode guides and news coverage, cross-checked against each other. Product images come from each company's own website. Shark photos come from Wikimedia Commons under Creative Commons licenses, with credits on each page.
Limitations
Deal terms shown are those agreed on TV. Multi-Shark deals are split evenly when exact splits weren't disclosed. Typical prices are approximate. If you see something wrong, let us know.
