Who is Sabin Lomac?
Sabin Lomac was born in San Diego and raised in Scarborough, Maine. He studied speech communication at Hofstra University, where he acted in theater productions and modeled, and later had roles on shows including All My Children, Guiding Light and Mad TV. He then moved into real estate in Los Angeles, leading a team of about ten agents. In 2011 he and his cousin Jim Tselikis decided to bring Maine lobster rolls to LA's food truck scene, launching their first truck in April 2012.
That summer they pitched on Shark Tank and took a $55,000 investment from Barbara Corcoran, whose idea to franchise shaped the company's growth; Lomac took the lead on business development and franchising. Cousins Maine Lobster opened its first restaurant in West Hollywood in 2015 and grew to dozens of trucks and restaurants across the U.S., plus locations in Taiwan. The cousins hosted Food Network's Food Truck Rehab starting in 2021, and in September 2026 they released Life and Lobster, a book about the company. Lomac also founded Cousins for a Cause, a nonprofit that works with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Los Angeles.
