Who is Aurora Weinstock?

Aurora Weinstock is the inventor behind Pick Up Bricks, a child-safe vacuum that sucks up building bricks and separates them from dust and dirt. She earned a bachelor's degree in communication and media studies from Fordham University. As a mother of three boys who played constantly with Lego, she was tired of stepping on loose pieces, and conversations with other parents convinced her the problem was common. She asked why no toy vacuum for bricks existed and, with her brother-in-law Steven Weinstock, spent about four years on prototypes, testing with their own children and refining a patented design.

The Los Angeles-based company started selling in June 2023 and had about $348,000 in sales by the time of its Shark Tank pitch, with most revenue coming during the holiday season. The founders reported putting roughly $495,000 of their own money into the business. In Season 15 they asked for $200,000 for 10% and accepted $200,000 for 16% from Mark Cuban and Lori Greiner. The company has since added Amazon sales, accessories and replacement parts.
