Who is Carrie Shaltz Haslup?

Carrie Shaltz Haslup is a Flint, Michigan, native and architect based in Glendale, California, who founded the baby clothing brand Tabeeze. She has described her approach as a form-follows-function designer's frustration with infant clothes that have to be pulled over a baby's head. After helping care for a relative's newborn, she developed bodysuits and rompers with patented shoulder snaps that let caregivers dress a baby from the bottom up and make skin-to-skin contact and feeding easier. The pieces are made from certified organic, Fair Trade materials, and the company says they are NICU-approved, with options that accommodate medical devices. She started the business in 2018 and launched products in 2022, selling through the Tabeeze website and Amazon.

TIME named the Tabeeze bodysuit one of its Best Inventions of 2023. On Shark Tank in Season 16 she asked for $100,000 for 10%. Daymond John said the decision was difficult but that her passion persuaded him, and she accepted his offer of $100,000 for 33.3%. Tabeeze has since added zip-leg rompers and snap-shoulder tees.
