Who is Jonathan Dusing?

Jonathan Dusing is a Minnesota entrepreneur who has run Snow In Seconds since 2008, long before he took it to Shark Tank. He attended Arizona State University and has operated several businesses, including co-owning FanMaker, which builds loyalty apps and websites for professional and college sports teams. Snow In Seconds sells a sodium polyacrylate powder that expands with water into reusable, non-toxic artificial snow, used for holiday decorating, crafts, classroom science and film and TV sets. The company had about $2 million in lifetime sales when Dusing pitched in the Season 15 holiday episode, with roughly $241,000 in revenue the prior year.

Half of sales came from bulk orders and about a third from wholesale, with Amazon and the company website making up the rest. Some sharks and viewers questioned how different the product was from existing instant-snow kits. Barbara Corcoran offered $50,000 for 33.3%; Dusing countered at 25%, Corcoran held firm, and he accepted her terms. Snow In Seconds continues to sell on Amazon, through its website and to productions.
