Who is Philip Loveland?
Philip Loveland is a University of Wisconsin-Madison psychology graduate who served as chief operating officer of Snow Scholars, the student-powered snow removal company founded by Jake Piekarski. He joined the company in April 2023, when it was building out its model of hiring college students at about $25 an hour to clear driveways and walkways for nearby homeowners and businesses. Loveland pitched alongside Piekarski on Shark Tank in Season 16. The pair asked for $75,000 for 10% of the company.
Kevin O'Leary and Daymond John each offered $75,000 for 20%, and Mark Cuban topped them with $150,000 for 20%, which the founders accepted. Loveland left Snow Scholars in November 2024 and has since worked as a real estate agent. The company has continued expanding to more college campuses in the Midwest.
