Who is Jen Crane?
Jen Crane co-founded Bottle Breacher with her husband, former Navy SEAL Eli Crane. The idea came from a bottle opener made from a .50-caliber cartridge that Eli received as a gift; the couple began turning decommissioned bullet casings into bottle openers in a single-car garage in San Diego. Jen brought online sales experience to the business and helped shape its marketing as it grew into a veteran-owned gift brand. The Cranes appeared on Shark Tank Season 6 in an episode that aired November 7, 2014, asking $150,000 for 10%.
Mark Cuban and Kevin O'Leary each invested $75,000 for a combined 20% stake, money the company used for marketing, cash flow and product development. Bottle Breacher widened its lineup of engraved, military-inspired gifts, was reported at more than $20 million in annual sales by 2019, and gave to more than 280 military and veteran charities. The couple sold the company in 2022 to Mike and Amber Wall.
