Who is Veronica Perlongo?

Veronica Perlongo (sometimes listed as Periongo) co-founded VCM Products, maker of BuggyBeds, with Maria Curcio in Freehold, New Jersey, in 2011. The product is a discreet glue trap placed under a mattress that attracts and catches bed bugs so people can spot a problem before it spreads. The business had early traction: about $150,000 in sales over six months, shelf space at Home Depot and Burlington Coat Factory, and a $5 million offer for its trademarks and patents that the founders declined.

On Shark Tank Season 4 in 2012, BuggyBeds made history as the first pitch to get offers from all five sharks, and the founders took a combined $250,000 for 25%. The company grew from a first $10,000 purchase order into a multimillion-dollar business, expanded its Home Depot presence to about 350 stores, added distributors in more than 40 countries, and widened its line to flea, tick, mosquito and lice products. Rock Mountain Capital acquired a majority stake in May 2021, with both founders remaining significant minority owners involved in growing the business.
