Who is Lindsay Mullenger?
Lindsay Mullenger is a St. Louis entrepreneur who founded Petite Keep, a maker of personalized heirloom trunks for storing keepsakes. She graduated from the University of Missouri's Trulaske College of Business in 2010 and worked in a corporate role at Procter & Gamble. The idea came while she was organizing her oldest daughter's nursery and could not find an attractive way to store baby keepsakes. She built the first trunks as a side project, with family members helping assemble them, and stayed in her corporate job until the business reached six figures in revenue in its first year.
The trunks are hand-assembled in Missouri, with custom embroidery and designs by women artists, and are sold for births, weddings, graduations and other milestones. Sales grew from about $110,000 in 2020 to roughly $5 million in 2023. On Shark Tank in Season 16, Mullenger asked for $400,000 for 5% and set off a bidding war. She closed with Mark Cuban, Barbara Corcoran and guest shark Jamie Lima for $400,000 for 15%, split among the three.
