Who is Nicholas George?
Nicholas George is the stage name of Nick Nowak (also spelled Nowack), a singer, songwriter and producer from the Cayman Islands. His father, George Nowak, is the longtime Caymanian performer known as the Barefoot Man. Nowak began writing songs during the COVID-19 lockdown and released his debut album in 2021. He also owns an outdoor gear company. With Nashville songwriter Kevin MaC, he launched TIK PIK in October 2022: a guitar pick with a nano-suction grip surface designed not to slip during play.
The partners pitched on Shark Tank Season 15 in an episode that aired November 3, 2023, with about $60,000 in sales. They asked $75,000 for 10% and accepted Mark Cuban's time-limited counteroffer of $75,000 for 16%. Since the show, TIK PIK signed a distribution deal with Guitar Center, putting the picks in more than 300 stores along with an exclusive variety pack, partnered with Fender on branded picks for 2025 and moved manufacturing from China to the U.S. Lifetime sales reportedly reached about $700,000 within a year of the episode.
