Who is Gavin Batarse?
Gavin Batarse invented Glove Wrap while trying to break in his own tee-ball glove in Tustin, California. His father, Jon, who coached the team, had been using dozens of rubber bands to hold a ball in the pocket of new gloves overnight; Gavin replaced them with one large non-latex rubber band that wraps the glove and holds its shape. The family began selling it online for $19.99. A TikTok video of Gavin handing a Glove Wrap to Texas Rangers pitcher Jon Gray drew more than five million views, and MLB players began endorsing it.
At eight, Gavin pitched on Shark Tank Season 15 with his father and sister Morgan in an episode that aired October 13, 2023. They had sold more than 1,000 units for about $19,000 and had placement at Big 5 Sporting Goods. They asked $50,000 for 20% and accepted $50,000 for 22% from Mark Cuban and guest shark Michael Rubin. Glove Wrap later became an official MLB partner, and in May 2026 the company launched Glove Wrap Pro, a version players can keep on their gloves all season.
