Who is Ethan Sanborn?
Ethan Sanborn is the young co-founder of Kiid Coffee, a caffeine-light coffee-style drink for children that he created with his father, David Sanborn, in Alpharetta, Georgia. The product began when Ethan enjoyed milk mixed with his dad's black coffee, and the family set out to make a kid-friendly version with no sugar and added vitamins and minerals. After more than 100 recipe tests, they launched in April 2024, selling on Amazon and in regional Georgia grocers.
Ethan led the family's pitch on Shark Tank in Season 16 at age eight. The Sanborns asked for $50,000 for 5% and accepted an offer from guest shark Daniel Lubetzky, founder of KIND Snacks, of $50,000 for 20% plus additional options tied to his father joining full-time. After the episode the brand expanded to about 150 stores and reached $1 million in annual revenue, and it has added vanilla, chocolate and caramel flavors and a variety pack.
