Who is David Pease?
David Pease is one of three brothers from Cincinnati who founded Rekkie, which makes smart snow goggles with a heads-up display and group communication features. Before Rekkie, David worked in private equity. The brothers grew up skiing together, and the company grew out of his brother Henry's frustration at getting separated from his group on the mountain. At Rekkie, David oversees manufacturing, marketing and operations, while Henry leads hardware and Fletcher handles sales and finance.
The founders invested roughly $200,000 of their own money, secured a $40,000 grant and launched the goggles in late 2022. David also runs other business interests alongside Rekkie. On Shark Tank in Season 15 the brothers asked for $300,000 for 10% of the company. Mark Cuban offered $300,000 for 15%, and they negotiated the stake down to 12.5%.
Reporting in 2024 said there was no evidence the deal had closed. Rekkie has continued selling direct online and introduced its updated Spekter 2.0 goggle in early 2025.
