Who is Kelly Nova?

Kelly Nova co-founded FairyTail Pet Care with her longtime friend Ilana Karcinski after the two worked together at a hotel in Tampa, Florida. There they saw couples struggle with how to include their dogs in weddings, and around 2015 they started a service that sends trained pet attendants to handle a couple's pets on the wedding day: caring for them through the event and getting them into the ceremony and photos. The Tampa headquarters did $123,000 in sales in 2022 with high margins, and the founders began franchising, with territories in markets including West Palm Beach, Las Vegas and Pittsburgh.

Franchisees pay an initial fee and royalties in exchange for training, website management and marketing support. On Shark Tank Season 15, Nova and Karcinski asked $75,000 for 10% and agreed on air to $75,000 for 22% with Barbara Corcoran; as of a May 2024 update, there was no public confirmation that the deal had closed. FairyTail Pet Care now operates wedding pet care in six markets and continues to offer franchises.
